Current Situation
Situation Summary
Firefighters are working aggressively to slow the spread and protect critical infrastructure under extreme conditions. Multiple structures have been damaged or destroyed as the wind-driven brush fire continues. Red Flag high wind conditions are expected to continue until Thursday evening. The combination of low humidity, dry fuels, and shifting winds has heightened the potential for spot fires and rapid expansion. Residents are urged to remain alert and follow instructions from local authorities as the situation evolves.

Do Not Drink Order
Eaton Fire Evacuated Areas of Pasadena Water and Power water system is potentially impacted with debris and elevated turbidity
DO NOT DRINK YOUR WATER IN THE EVACUATED AREAS
Failure to follow this advisory could result in illness
Debris and elevated turbidity from the Eaton Fire potentially impacted Pasadena Water and Power’s (PWP) drinking water system in the Eaton Fire evacuated areas. The State Water Resources Control Board, Pasadena Public Health Department, and Pasadena Water and Power Water System are advising residents of Pasadena to NOT USE THE TAP WATER FOR DRINKING AND COOKING IN THE IMPACTED AREAS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
What should I do?
- DO NOT DRINK YOUR TAP WATER---USE ONLY BOTTLED WATER. Bottled water should be used for all drinking (including baby formula and juice), brushing teeth, washing dishes, making ice and food preparation until further notice. This also applies to pets and domestic animals.
- DO NOT TRY AND TREAT THE WATER YOURSELF. Boiling, freezing, filtering, adding chlorine or other disinfectants, or letting water stand will not make the water safe
Notice will be provided when tests show that the water is safe again. The expected timeframe for resolution is unknown and dependent on evolving fire, wind, and related conditions.
