Current Situation
Situation Summary
The fire is burning in an area with steep complex terrain and critically dry fuels. Despite these difficulties, minimal fire growth was observed today. Evacuation orders remain in place for the affected cities due to numerous downed trees, downed power lines, gas leaks and power outages. If you have questions or need clarification regarding evacuations in your area, please reach out to your city’s official government website to receive those updates. Priorities for tonight include, maintaining current containment lines and ensuring perimeter control. Firefighters continue defensive operations and construct direct and indirect line where feasible.
Gusty northeast wind will return to high elevations Saturday night into Sunday with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity decreasing back below 20 percent. Another Santa Ana wind event is possible around next Tuesday.
