Status Update

Situation Summary

Higher relative humidity and good moisture recoveries are resulting in reduced fire activity.  The fire continued backing and flanking into the Bear Creek Drainage. Firefighters are continuing direct and indirect line construction.

An updated Smoke Outlook was published Tuesday. It can be found at fire.airnow.gov.

There have been multiple drone incursions over the Line Fire area. This impedes our firefighting operations and can have deadly consequences. Please be respectful of those fighting the fire and the community members who are impacted by fire. Never fly drones near wildfire. If you fly, we can't.

Damage Inspection Teams (DINS) are working in the fire area. So far, they have identified four structures that were damaged and one that was destroyed. Their inspections include residences, multi-family dwellings, outbuildings, and commercial buildings.

Governor Gavin Newsom has announced that the California National Guard will support the state’s ongoing response to the Line Fire.
Through its activation, authorized under the Line Fire state of emergency, the California National Guard has deployed:

  • Four UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters for water bucket dropping operations
  • Two C-130 aircraft with Modular Airborne Fire Fighting Systems (MAFFS)
  • Four 20-person hand crews (80 soldiers).
  • One military police company to support the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with traffic control points in evacuated areas.

For information on the Line Fire, please call (909) 220-4292. The line for media is (909) 881-6949. Additional fire information can be found at: Cabdf Line Fire Information | InciWeb (wildfire.gov).
