Current Situation

Situation Summary

The Line Fire was originally reported in the area of Baseline Street and Aplin Street on Sept. 5. Resources continue to respond from throughout the state. Fire crews continue to make progress during the nighttime hours due to higher humidity and nighttime water-dropping helicopters. Steep terrain and lack of access impact crews' ability to access some areas of the fires. Firefighters on the ground will continue to be supported by fixed-wing and rotary aircraft. An excessive heat warning is in effect until Monday at 8 p.m. CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 3 will be in unified command with the United States Forest Service at 6 p.m. (9/7/2024).
