Current Situation

Situation Summary

The Boone Fire remained active on Wednesday. The fuels were receptive, and this allowed the fire to spread. The northern portion of the fire is burning in the footprint of the 2020 Mineral Fire. Over the next three days, temperatures are expected to soar above the 100-degree mark. Dry conditions and high winds of up to 25 mph are expected to persist in the afternoons. Firefighters are dealing with steep and rugged terrain and access is difficult.
