Current Situation

Situation Summary

Firefighters continue to fight the Boone Fire which is burning primarily in grass and brush. Conditions continue to be hot and dry and there is a heat advisory in effect over the fire area. In the northern portion, the fire is burning in the area previously affected by the 2020 Mineral Fire. Vegetation is dry due to rising temperatures and relative humidity within fire area. Over the next three days, temperatures are expected to soar above the 100-degree mark.
