Current Situation
Situation Summary
Firefighters responded to a fast-moving wildland fire that was located off Forbestown Road near the community of Robinson Mill. The Quincy Fire started in the Wall Fire footprint and developed very quickly. The first resource at scene requested additional resources, and air and ground equipment arrived shortly. The fire burned to the top of the ridgeline and short-range spotting was observed. While aircraft slowed the spread with water and retardant drops, engines, hand crews, and dozers worked to build containment lines and lay hose around the entire fire perimeter. The Butte County Sheriff's Office issued several evacuation warnings. The forward spread of the fire was stopped at 4:45 pm and all evacuations have been lifted. Mop up will continue throughout the night and a day shift will be assigned to the fire tomorrow.
