Current Situation

Situation Summary

CAL FIRE Tanker 93 from the Chico Air Attack Base was the first resource at scene of a fire off Purple Rocks Lane in the Hurleton-Swedes Flat area between Forbestown Road and Oro Bangor Highway. The tanker made a retardant drop at the head of the fire, slowing the spread while ground crews made access on very rough roads. The first engine at scene requested additional resources as the fire showed great potential for growth. One structure and multiple vehicles were burned, but crews quickly got hose and dozer line around the fire and stopped the forward spread in less than 2 ½ hours. Some resources have been released, but firefighters will remain at scene all night making sure no hot spots remain.

All evacuations have been lifted.
