Current Situation

Situation Summary

Today, firefighters will concentrate on extinguishing hot spots and removing weakened trees within the area. Fire suppression repair continues. Warmer temperatures and lower humidity are expected over the fire zone. Although containment has improved to 68 percent, concerns remain due to the large amount of dead fuel still present. A gradual reduction of firefighting resources is now underway.

Evacuation Orders, Warnings & Repopulation

Evacuation Zone Repopulation Information:
The Evacuation Warning zone has been lifted for the Crozier Fire, however the Evacuation Order remains around the footprint of the fire. For safety, as Rock Creek Rd. is extremely narrow, please use the traffic flow plan that has been suggested as there will still be Fire Personnel and equipment traveling in the area. Areas of the El Dorado National Forrest remain under a forest closure. Please refer to the U.S. Forest Service for more information regarding the closure order at www.fs.usda.gov/eldorado and U.S. Forest Service - Eldorado National Forest
An Area Closure Order is in effect for the Crozier Fire area on the Eldorado National Forest to provide for public safety during wildland fire suppression efforts and forest rehabilitation work.
