Situation Summary
#NixonFire [UPDATE 8/4/24 @7PM] The fire remains at 5,222 acres and is now 82% contained.
Today, fire crews strengthened control lines and made excellent progress within the fire line. With elevated temperatures and dry weather, unburned vegetation within the perimeter of the fire burned and produced visible smoke. Resources continue to work diligently to establish containment lines.
⚠ Evacuation Orders were changed today to Evacuation Warnings, and some Evacuation Warnings were lifted.⚠
👉Residents are advised to be aware of emergency crews who will remain in the area and to drive cautiously while near the fire area.
