Current Situation

Situation Summary

We are operating under unified command with the San Diego Sheriff's Department and in close collaboration with the San Diego County Office of Emergency Services. The San Diego County Incident Management Team has taken command of the fire and provided the first briefing this morning.

The Grove Fire ignited yesterday afternoon in Oak Grove, California, and rapidly expanded to 816 acres by nightfall. While the fire was active throughout the day, its intensity decreased overnight, allowing firefighters to enhance containment efforts. Aircraft will be staffed early this morning to engage the fire before the daytime heat intensifies fire activity.

EVACUATION ORDERS and WARNINGS remain in effect for Chihuahua Valley and will be reassessed as conditions change.
