Current Situation

Situation Summary

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to La Sierra Avenue X Tin Mine Road in the community of El Cerrito, west of Lake Mathews. The first arriving engine reported approximately five acres of vegetation burning and requested additional resources. The fire has been mapped by intel aircraft at 125 acres. There are no injuries or evacuations. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.

8:00 p.m. UPDATE: The fire remains 125 acres and the forward progress has stopped. Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night to fully contain the fire.
