Current Situation

Situation Summary

Today's objective is to continue to strengthen containment and control lines. Firefighters on the line will continue to remain hydrated and ready in the event the fire activity increases. Record hot and dry weather conditions and rugged topography throughout the fire area are challenging for suppression efforts. Windy conditions are of high concern for fireline personnel and their life safety.

Weather Update: Warm conditions prevailed with overnight low temperatures near 8O degrees. Relative humidity recovery was poor. Light northeasterly winds were observed. For today, some slight warming is anticipated with the heat wave peaking in strength. Afternoon temperatures in the 110-115 range are expected. So, the EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING will remain in effect. Relative humidity on Sunday will once again drop into the 8-15% range. Typical diurnal winds are expected with southwesterly winds in the afternoon and evening hours.
