Situation Summary

Firefighters continue to strengthen containment and control lines. Firefighters on the line will continue to remain hydrated and ready in the event the fire activity increases.

Weather Update: Very hot and dry conditions prevailed today. Afternoon temperatures climbed into 105-112 range while relative humidity dropped into the 8-15% range. Light northeasterly winds in the morning shifted to a southwesterly direction by late morning with gusts 10-15 MPH. An EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING remains in effect for the area. Warm conditions will prevail tonight, with overnight low temperatures near 80 degrees. Relative humidity recovery will be poor. Light northeasterly winds are expected. For Saturday, some slight warming is anticipated, with the heat wave peaking in strength. Afternoon temperatures in the 110-115 range are expected, so the EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING will remain in effect. Relative humidity on Sunday will once again drop into the 8-15% range. Typical diurnal winds are expected, with southwesterly winds in the afternoon and evening hours.
