Situation Summary

The Veterans Fire has made significant progress, now reaching 90% containment. Firefighters have been working tirelessly through the night and will continue their efforts throughout the day to achieve full containment. The dedicated fire crews have been focusing on strengthening control lines, conducting mop-up operations, and extinguishing remaining hot spots. The community's support has not gone unnoticed. Our firefighters deeply appreciate the positive comments and encouragement they've received as they work in challenging heat conditions. This support boosts morale and reinforces the strong bond between the firefighters and the community they protect. The fire, which started near Gas Point Road and Small Farms Drive, about five miles west of Happy Valley, has been mapped at 85 acres.  As the firefighters continue their efforts to gain full containment, it's important for those in the area to remain cautious.
