Current Situation

Situation Summary

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a vegetation fire at the 42000 block of Oak Canyon Road south of Hemet. The fire has been mapped at 12.86 acres and is 5% contained. Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of the fire and will remain on scene performing mop up of hot spots.

UPDATE 9:35 a.m. #OakFIRE Updated mapping shows the fire burned 13.3 acres. The fire is 20% contained and one barn was destroyed. No injuries to people or animals reported.

FINAL UPDATE 8:00 p.m. The #OakFIRE is 100% contained at 13.3 acres. The cause is under investigation.
