Current Situation
Situation Summary
Firefighters are making steady progress as relative humidity is expected to increase overnight, and weak northeasterly winds will persist into the evening. Crews are actively balancing structure defense with efforts to establish and reinforce the fire’s perimeter control. Throughout the day, moderate fire behavior was observed.
The fire is receiving air support via rotor-wing aircraft were actively engaged throughout the day, and night-flying aircraft have been assigned to continue operations.
At 10 a.m. yesterday (12/10), CAL FIRE Incident Management Team assumed command operating within a Unified Command structure.
Per the City of Malibu: The City has set up an Emergency Information and Supplies Station at Zuma Beach, offering updates, food, water, first aid assistance. City emergency alerts are posted at http://malibucity.org/alerts.

Fire Management Assistance Grants (FMAG) have been approved by FEMA for this incident.
