Current Situation

Situation Summary

On Tuesday, (12/10) firefighters actively worked on containment efforts along the perimeter of the fire. The deep and rugged terrain, along with the strong winds and low humidity, continue to pose challenges for firefighters. Nevertheless, firefighters continued to aggressively work to control the fire and protect structures.

The fire grew an additional 600 acres from this morning. There are over 1,500 firefighters assigned to the incident. A Red Flag Warning remains in effect until tomorrow afternoon.

Time-sensitive: A press conference will be held today 12/11 at 8:00 a.m. at Zuma Beach Lifeguard Tower, 30050 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA 90265. Officials will provide an update on this incident.

Per the City of Malibu: The City has set up an Emergency Information and Supplies Station at Zuma Beach, offering updates, food, water, first aid assistance. City emergency alerts are posted at http://malibucity.org/alerts.
