Status Update

Situation Summary

As of 10/25/22 at 7:00 AM, Northwest Team 12 has taken command of the Shoe Fire.

UPDATE 11/8/24:

Firefighters continue to patrol the Shoe Fire perimeter, while excavators and road graders work on the suppression repair on the contingency lines. We also have a masticator working in Madrone campground cleaning up hazards caused by the fire.

WEATHER: Sunny skies with lighter winds prevailed today. Relative humidity's were in the mid to low 20's with temperatures in the 60's. A strong upper low which brought our area gusty winds and critical fire weather conditions have moved off to the south and east. A ridge of high pressure is building over the area, this will result in very seasonable conditions today.

A temporary Forest closure is in effect: https://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/stnf/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5392380

This will be the final update from Northwest Team 12. We would like to thank the local communities for their support and hospitality in hosting our firefighters.
