Current Situation

Situation Summary

Air and ground resources continue suppression and structure defense efforts. Multiple evacuation orders and warnings have been issued. Please evacuate if you are ask to do so and clear traffic for first responders.

The fire continues to spot to the north towards High Valley and the east towards Clearlake Oaks. Air and ground resources are working on picking up the spot fires as well as fortifying control lines mid-slope to keep the fire from backing down towards Highway 20.

The most active area of the fire is near Cerritos Drive.

Firefighters are expecting westerly winds to continue until sunset, which could bring concerns of additional spotting of the fire.

Road Closures

Highway 20 is closed west of Glenhaven at Paradise Valley and to the east at the round-about of Highway 20 and Highway 53.
