What: The cooperating agencies of the Oak Fire will conduct a community meeting at the Mariposa County High School in Mariposa. Representatives from the incident’s Unified Command will provide an update and be available for questions. *Technology permitting, the meeting will be livestreamed via the CAL FIRE MMU Unit Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CALFIREMMU
SAFETY MESSAGE – The public is reminded to stay vigilant on current fire conditions. Please continue to adhere to road closures and evacuation orders. Please drive slowly and yield to emergency personnel in the area.
Update: 7/24/22 AM
The fire remained active through the night moving toward the communities of Jerseydale, Darrah, and Bootjack. Poor humidity recovery was observed overnight. Today the weather is expected to remain hot with minimum humidity between 5 and 10%, which will hamper firefighting efforts. High tree mortality and dense fuels are throughout the fire area. Fire evacuation and advisories remain in effect. Damage inspection teams are beginning their assessment of the areas affected by the fire.
