Situation Summary

Current Situation:

Evacutation orders have been lifted for all but 800 residents. Damage assessment continues and as properties are inspected and evaluated the area information will be
updated. This process has resulted in a decrease in the number of structures reported as damaged.

Hazard tree removal and utility infrastructure repair is taking place in preparation for repopulation. As the public starts to repopulate, please remain vigilant and watch for fire crews and utility resources on roadways. Heavy smoke from the Dixie Fire continues to impact air quality throughout the region.

Evacuation Orders:

Placer County:

  • Zone 1 : Evacuation Order-Railroad tracks west to the river. Mt. Howell Rd north to
    Ben Taylor Rd.
  • Zone 2 : Evacuation Order-Rollins Lake Rd west to the river. Ben Taylor Rd north to
    Rollins Lake.

A message from Placer County Water Agency (PCWA): Upon return of water service for customers in the Colfax area, if the water looks cloudy or dirty, do not drink it. Let the hot and cold water lines run until the water appears clear. If you are experiencing water pressure issues, please contact customer services at (530) 823-4850. As PCWA continues to assist firefighting efforts, please be mindful of your water use to ensure firefighting personnel have access to essential water supplies when necessary.

  • NCO-E050: Dog Bar Rd. (Central); Mount Olive Rd.(Western)-North of Buck Ridge Rd.; Dog Bar Rd. and East; South of Rattlesnake and Birch Meadow Acres; West of Clydesdale Rd.
