Status Update
Situation Summary
The fire is burning in annual grasses and light brush. Significant demobilization of excess resources began yesterday and will continue today. Highway 79 (Lamb Canyon Rd.) is opened in both directions. Hwy. 243 was opened to the public at 10am from Banning to Poppet Flats, but has been closed indefinitely. Caltrans has completely closed Highway 243 between Wesley Rd. on the north end to Twins Pines on the south end. Residents living south of Twin Pines must use SR74 from Hemet to access their property. Please call Caltrans at 1-800-427-ROAD(7623) for information or visit their website at www.caltrans8.info.Evacuation Centers: The evacuation center at Hemet High School on 41701 E. Stetson Avenue in Hemet has been closed. The single evacuee has been moved over to the Beaumont evacuation center. The Fellowship of the Pass Church at 650 Oak Valley Parkway (TB 690 J7) in Beaumont is still open. The church's number is (951) 845-2693x01.
